The Infection Preventionist will join a hospital that offers a full array of services including General Surgery, Emergency, Cardiology, Women’s Health, Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, and more. It is accredited for Chest Pain with Primary PCI and has a Stroke Center, as well as a Trauma Center. This hospital has received the Stroke GOLD PLUS Performance Achievement Award. The facility that has been a staple of the community for years, and the incoming Infection Preventionist will play a large role in keeping it that way.

The Infection Preventionist IP reports to the Director of Performance Improvement and the Infection Control Committee and is supported by a wonderful team of Infection Control Practitioners. This person develops and implements guidelines regarding detection, prevention, and control of infectious diseases. The Infection Preventionist will assist in implementing the Hospital-Wide Infection Prevention Program and work with the Occupational Health Nurse with regards to the Employee Health Program. This person will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, healthcare leaders, and infection control experts. 

Nurses, Medical Technologists, and Microbiologists will be considered, and Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is preferred.
