Department Overview

Motorola Solutions' Federal Technical Center (FTC) is dedicated to serving U.S. Federal Government subscriber equipment. Our state-of-art facility services two-way portable and mobile radios for conventional and trunked technologies. The FTC specializes in encrypted communications. The FTC is ISO-9001, UL, and CSA certified.

Job Description

As a member of the site leadership team, reporting directly to the facility manager, you will manage and drive Lean initiatives at the Federal Technical Center in Lanham, MD. Using your experience, you will lead a mature Lean organization to the next level.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Quickly establish yourself as a leader within the supply chain, with the expectation of career progression.




• Lead site wide continuous improvement initiatives to achieve KPI goals in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.




• Develop and execute a roadmap to create a world class manufacturing and systems integration facility that is a benchmark for both manufacturing processes and customer experience.




• Lead the site's training organization, focused on employee skills optimization.




• Lead the site's industrial engineering team.




• Act as the Lean subject matter expert for the entire supply chain operation.




• Mentor, train, and develop world-class employees for career progression.

Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles, systems, and tools.




• Demonstrated ability in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools to achieve results.




• Superior oral and written communication skills.




• Ability to effectively present information to senior management.




• Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.




• Ability to influence without direct authority.




• Strong working knowledge of all supply chain functions.




• Ability to work in a team environment and dynamically align to changing business conditions.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelors Degree


• 3 or more years experience


• Six Sigma experience
