The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Technical Product Owner, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Collaborating with the Product Owners and customer to define software requirements and test cases for application features and reporting

  • Create and maintain product documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including training materials, user guides, release notes and reporting

  • Maintain product backlog – Triage development and QA tickets based on business and customer priorities, breakdown roadmap epics to appropriate tickets

  • Support development execution – lead bi-weekly sprint meetings, daily status meetings

  • Identify and address opportunities for improvement in product documentation

  • Maintain product release notes and release schedule

  • Provide product subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders

  • Willingness to travel as required in support of customer and sales activity

  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Healthcare in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree education requirement


  • Four (4) years of experience working with software application development


  • Two (2) years of experience in project management


Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Master's degree in health information systems (HIS), health policy, or hospital administration


  • Preferred 2+ years of combined experience working in healthcare provider or payer sector


  • Preferred 4+ years of combined experience working in project management


  • Preferred 4+ years of combined experience working with software application development


  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies


  • Familiarity with the US health care reimbursement methodologies – inpatient, outpatient, and risk adjustment


Location: 3M HIS office locations (Pittsburgh, PA or SLC, UT) or remote would be considered

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
