Position Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for seeking out solutions to issues encountered on the manufacturing floor arising from vendor-supplied items, as well as completed assemblies. The Engineer will seek to pinpoint and address the root cause issues, and prevent product flow of failing items. They will coordinate with the Director of Engineering and Quality to prioritize and address identified items, and work in coordination with the Director of Operations to identify items of concern.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

AMETEK Spectro Scientific and Grabner Instruments seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to be an integral part of monitoring the production processes and identifying issues in those processes. There are multiple, complex products assembled at the facility and the Manufacturing Engineer will seek to understand these products and their issues. The successful candidate will then seek to establish solutions to these issues through their own efforts, along with working in conjunction with other Engineering and Operations team members.

Essential Responsibilities Include:
• Understanding the various manufacturing processes and products that are currently made at the facility.
• Broad-based engineering skillset to peruse mechanical drawings, and understand electronics and electrical designs to aid in pinpointing issues.
• Writeup and work to solve identified issues.
• Draft ECOs as appropriate for solved cases.
• Keep a balanced approach in prioritizing issues in coordination with the Director of Engineering and Quality.

Position Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s Degree degree in engineering or other technical field
• 3+ years of experience as an engineer
• Excellent skills in troubleshooting system issues; experience with analytical instrumentation is a bonus
• Ability to smoothly coordinate between Engineering and Operations Departments
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand electronics and power design
• Good report-writing skills and ability to navigate QMS systems
