Job Description:

We are seeking a hard-working, reliable, and punctual Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our growing operation. In this role, you will manage, and coordinate activities of Shipping and Receiving in our Deltek Costpoint system. Candidate will be responsible for keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment. Study shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing shipping/receiving activities

  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and storage methods and principles and the ability to organize warehouses based on this information.

  • Oversee and hands on activity of incoming and outgoing shipping and receiving requirements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

  • Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.

  • Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.

  • Uses material handling equipment for shipment preparation.

  • Compiles records of unfilled orders.

  • Report any order discrepancies or issues to supervisor ASAP

  • Post weight and shipping charges.

  • Prepare bills of lading, both domestic and international.

  • Accurately receive goods into Envistacom Deltek Costpoint system.

  • Assist workers in warehousing activities.

  • Operate a forklift, as needed.

  • Keep the warehouse clean and organized

  • Knowledge of export documentation requirements and ensures documents such as invoices, bills of lading and other shipping documents comply with federal, state, local and foreign regulations.

  • Knowledge of ITAR and EAR as it relates to shipping both domestic and International.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS in a relevant field or equivalent OR 5 years warehouse shipping receiving and inventory experience ideally in a government contract manufacturing environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience working with Deltek Costpoint MRP system, preferred

  • Valid driver's license

  • Work in a Team environment

  • Must be a problem-solving person

  • Forklift certification per OSHA standards

  • Able to work on your feet for 8-hour shifts and lift 30 lbs regularly

  • Basic computer skills for maintaining inventory logs and databases

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions/detailed oriented

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a comprehensive background check
