Responsibilities
Database administration activities required to provide accessible, secure, scalable, and reliable databases.
Support *NIX/Oracle, Windows Oracle, MS SQL Server databases and theirstructures.
Maintain storage allocation, backup, recovery, and replication procedures.
Support system platform migration.
Administration and support of Storage Area Networks (SANs) such as Hitachi, NetAPP, EMC, and IBM as required.
Administration of backup, restoration, and replication software such as Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), NetBackup, Oracle Data Guard, or other current technology as required.
Track vendor maintenance and support agreements to ensure coverage.
Provisioning of user-ids for all production and database servers.
Participate in application design reviews.
Implementing and production support for database technology enhancements.
Create and maintain standard operating procedures for production and DR data base platforms as directed.
Performance monitoring and performance tuning.
Build a knowledge of database information in SharePoint which details database and application interdependencies, configuration documentation, problem resolution and RCA data.
Complete the migration of COTS software to new versions no less than nine (9) months prior to EOL on the production version.
Work with the ITPM to support the creation of masked data from production databases to be loaded in non-production environments for performance testing.
Skills
Experiencemaintainingdatabase system integrity and security.
Experienceimplementing and supporting Oracle Cluster Ready Services.
Experienceapplying maintenance, enhancements, and security patching
Understanding ofFederal Server security and hardening requirements and solutions
Minimum Requirements
BS/BA and 10 years of experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation (EOD) for continued employment.
