Nemours is seeking a Registration Specialist I (PRN/Casual) to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children’s Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.

Job Duties

To greet patients in accordance with Nemours Standards of Behavior. Perform registration and check-in or check-out functions for clinic(s). Verify and update demographic, insurance, PCP and authorizations/referral information when required at each encounter. Provide service to internal and external customers as a member of the clinic team and act as a resource to team members.


  • Documentation: Ensure all annual mandatory forms are complete, accurate, updated and on file in accordance with NCC policies.

  • Financial: Collect all copay, coinsurance and selfpay amount due for services rendered. Adhere to end of day business processing standard by verifying that cash analysis and receipts balance.

  • Scheduling: Schedule follow-up appointment as instructed via the appointment disposition.

  • Workqueues: Process encounters via the registration and check-out workqueue daily.

  • Ability to cross cover within department.

  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma required.

  • Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year experience required.

  • Customer Service and Health Care experience preferred.

  • Good communications skills are required.

  • Use professional language and appropriate grammar at all times in verbal or written communication.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, possess critical thinking skills and be solution oriented.

  • Embraces cultural diversity in the workplace.

  • Willingness to provide exceptional customer service skills (A.I.D.E.T.)

  • Govern self by personal standards of integrity/ethics.

  • Organize and prioritize responsibilities in order to meet deadlines.
