Manages the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of Value Analysis projects across the health system ensuring consistency with MCH’s strategy, commitments and goals. Maintaining or improving the quality of patient care, leads and manages mutli-disciplinary project teams to identify and implement substantial supply cost reduction, supply standardization and supply utilization initiatives
Minimum Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a health care related field in value analysis, product evaluation or clinical supplies required
Supervisory or managerial experience required.
Experience working with medical supplies, supply chain operations or value and cost-benefit analysis required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of value analysis projects across the health system ensuring consistency with MCH’s strategy, commitments and goals. Analyzes product research, outcomes data and financial analyses to ensure that the hospital supply management activities optimize the delivery of cost effective quality healthcare
Serves as a liaison between the Supply Chain Department, Group Purchasing Organization, vendor community, hospital leaders and medical staff to ensure cost-effective utilization of products and services. Coordinates product evaluations and financial reviews to ensure all stakeholders are represented
Drives the process by interacting with all appropriate department leaders to develop, coordinate and integrate cost-management programs into departmental services.
Monitors all evaluation to ensure teams remain focused and standard evaluation process is maintained.
Reviews hospital benchmark reports in order to develop targeted areas for savings opportunities
Acts as facilitator for value analysis committee and any sub teams.
Evaluates all kits and trays versus individual component parts for maximum cost-effectiveness
Evaluates the cost-effectiveness of “reusable” versus “disposable” products
Ensures all trials and evaluations are unbiased and conducted in a professional manner
Prepares agenda with team leaders for monthly VAT meeting
Participates in other committee as Supply Chain representative as required
Drives decisions that may necessitate devising new methods or modifying /adapting standard practices. Responsible for development of data, recommendation and decisions. Addresses problems that may require significant analysis and judgment. Sets priorities, evaluates results and coordinates with others
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Clinical professional designation, such as an RN license, is preferred
Business degree preferred
Able to work independently
Broad familiarity of medical terminology and supplies
Work is widely varied and involves significant variables.
Able to maintain discretion and judgment in making decisions
Ability to facilitate multiple work groups
Ability to interact with various levels within the organization
Presentation skills, implementation and follow up skills are needed
Strong interpersonal communication and facilitation skills
Ability to interact with senior executives, physician leaders and clinicians to drive key business decisions
