Job Description:

As a Commercial Loan Specialist I, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for the Business/Agribusiness Loan Services Team. Accountable for assisting members in a courteous, professional, confidential, and timely manner. Responsible for all processing loan product claims and refunds to include, but not limited to , total loss claims. Assist internal and external members via phone, chat, and in-person to resolve any loan related issues, processing documentation, and loan maintenance as required.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
 


-               Prepare and process documentation and loan file maintenance for both business and agribusiness loans to include, but not limited to, identifying business ownership, and signing authority, collateral ownership, attachment and perfection, compliance with regulatory agencies and protecting the institution against loan losses pursuant to local, state, and federal laws. Performs file maintenance to renew, extend, modify, or otherwise amend any loan record whether through new contracting or to make corrections.
 


-               Verify all documentation for accuracy and completeness. Update verified information into computer system(s). Receive, review, respond, and record credit disputes. Provide support to all aspects of servicing commercial and agricultural loans, have a direct impact on members of the credit union to include quality control on loan documents processed by member-facing staff and working with the employees to retrieve proper documentation. Be a part of a team that focuses on driving progress, building relationships, and keeping people at the core in everything that they do.
 


-               Book all new loans to the core software immediately upon receiving executed loan documents to include, but not limited to, verifying that all terms and conditions in the note or other contractual documents are implemented in the core accurately for proper tracking, reporting, and billing.
 


-               Prepares releases for any full or partial release of collateral to include, but not limited to, the preparation of mortgage releases and UCC terminations. Monitor new vehicle titles for lien recordation and their release upon receipt of approval. Prepare disbursements for new loans and renewals immediately upon receiving executed loan documents to include, but not limited to, advancing loan funds to member accounts, submitting wires for payoffs, and placing loan fees into appropriate general ledger accounts.
 


-               Resolve documentation exception issues and maintaining service levels. Maintain remittance and balancing of business and agribusiness loan and lending products and month-end reconciliation of journal entries. Pull and review daily reports, as assigned, and review daily loans booked to the core system.
 


-               Support the Lenders by making recommendations for properly documenting unique loan structures and/or collateral types.
 


-               Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
 


WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED


Experience
 


2+ years' experience in the financial industry to include experience in loan documentation.
 


Education / Certifications / Licenses


A High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Professional level of verbal and written communication skills are essential to the position.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Credit Union regulations, products, policies, procedures, and services.

Physical Requirements
 


 



  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.

  • Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation.

  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.

  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.

  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.

  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance


  Working Conditions 



  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
