Job Summary:

Provides HR leadership to the development, implementation, and management of best practices in human resources across CooperVision’s Commercial in support of the company’s vision and mission.  Drive the implementation of the Strategic HR plan and be a true business partner that enables effective and efficient HR support to an inclusive, diverse and multi-cultural workforce.  Provide guidance to management and staff on HR processes, including employee relations.

 

This role supports but is not limited to the following groups: US Commercial Organization, Canada, and Latin America (LATAM) based employees.  The incumbent will be responsible for the timely implementation of HR goals and programs as defined with business leaders.  Act as an internal consultant to the business leaders to help translate overall business strategies into workable solutions.

This role directly manages the HR Manager, Canada and HR Manager, Latin America and will have a solid-line reporting relationship to the Senior Director of Human Resources, Americas Commercial and Global Information Technology.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:


  • Design and lead the HR strategy in business partnership with the Americas Commercial function, to support Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Recognition, Engagement, Organizational Design, Workforce Planning, and other HR-related competencies.

  • Ensure alignment to regional and global HR strategies, as well as to Country, Local, State and Federal regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure appropriate training and development programs are in place to support operational objectives and strategies.

  • Executes on the delivery of HR programs and services with partnership from Cooper’s internal HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Technology, and Information Systems).

  • Succession Planning administration and implementation.

  • Support Performance Enablement Process.

  • Partners with the Talent Acquisition team to provide recruitment and selection processes that builds organization capabilities to meet business objectives.

  • Fosters a positive working environment by channeling CooperVision’s Values and enabling a Great Place to Work culture.

  • Drive culture of positive engagement, to include effective employee relations, conflict management, and dispute resolution.

  • Manage work environment plans.

  • Initiate and manage individual and team coaching for development.

  • Provide team guidance and leadership.

  • Strong demonstrated skills in HR for employee relations, legal compliance, talent management, change management, and all general areas of Human Resources.

  • Engages in community affairs to maintain good relations with local community.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Demonstrated experience exhibiting strategic leadership skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong business partnerships and working relationships across functions, levels, and locations.

  • Strong analytical skills, inclusive of expert understanding of HR-related KPI’s, and the ability to effectively communicate those to the client group.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Experience working with and leading an empowered, self-directed work team.

  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity.

  • Strong change management and organizational development skills.

  • Management/supervisory experience with an eye towards mentoring and developing staff.

  • Computer Skills:  Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).  Knowledge of Peoplesoft Oracle a plus.

Work Environment:


  • Normal Office Environment

  • Occasional travel

Experience:


  • Ten (10)+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources management with knowledge and experience in the following:  Talent Development, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, HR Policies and Procedures, Employment/EEO/AAP, Performance Management, and HRIS systems.

  • Experience in Canada HR and LATAM HR management preferred.

  • Strong business acumen.

Education:


  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; preferably in Human Resources Management, Business, Psychology or related field.

  • Master’s degree or SPHR certification a plus.
