NORTH AMERICAN BANCARD - STAFF ACCOUNTANT - Troy, MI

The Role:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Finance Department perform accurate and expedient accounting functions.  The ideal candidate for this role has solid mathematical skills, can identify errors, and has obtained an education in an accounting-related field. 

What else you will be doing:

• General ledger and bank account reconciliations.


• Coordinate Month-end close.


• Journal entry preparation.


• Balance sheet and income statement account analysis for multiple entities.


• Assist with year-end close as needed.


• General accounting administration functions.


• Assist the Department with ad hoc projects as needed.

What we need from you:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting.


• Minimum (3) years’ experience as a Staff Accountant preparing and completing journal entries, bank reconciliations and general ledger preferred.


• Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word 


• Must have good written and verbal skills.


• Must be able to work independently on projects with appropriate guidance.


• Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to be flexible in work tasks.


• Must be well organized and detail-oriented.

 How to be an all-star:

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains a plus.


• Microsoft Access knowledge a plus.
