The Role:
Equity compensation accountant is an integral member of the finance team, reporting directly to Financial Controller, participating in accounting and finance processes, controls over internal and external financial reporting. The successful candidate will join a team of finance professionals responsible for the Financial, Regulatory, and Management accounting for BGC, GFI and Cantor Fitzgerald.


  • Maintains the books & records for the firm's various types of equity-based compensation and employee loans. Prepares journal entries, reconciliations and ad hoc analysis for Company's equity awards.
  • Prepares the Compensation footnote for all 10-Q/10-K filings and assists SEC reporting team with any related compensation disclosures
  • Partners with the FP&A team to assist in daily/monthly/annual budgeting and forecasting of equity comp P&L items
  • Coordinate with other departments firmwide, regional finance teams, and internal/external auditors to provide timely and accurate reporting of segment/entity compensation information
  • Perform monthly balance sheet substantiation, evaluate adequacy of expense accruals, resolving issues, and escalate key items to management timely

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 2-5 years in an accounting role - financial services experience a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance related field
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
  • Advanced analytical and Excel capabilities and project management skills
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks and manage team priorities and workload
  • Critical thinking, team oriented views, attention to detail, communication - excellent oral and writing skills
