The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
3M Consumer Business group is searching for a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our Retail Analytics and Data Science team.  In this position, you will drive analytic solutions that turn large and complex data into knowledge. You will build and deploy BI solutions such as Azure Analysis Services models and utilize Power BI to create dynamic and insightful reports. You will use advanced DAX calculations, connect to disparate datasets, process billions of rows of data to apply a problem-solving attitude and business acumen to unlock actionable insights that impact growth.

As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Developing/building AAS tabular models. Add data sources, load/modify tables, create measures, create relationships, add roles. Publish models to different environments


• Writing measures in DAX query language including time intelligence functions


• Loading data tables using M Query or SQL from Azure SQL database


• Loading/publishing historical data to AAS


• Developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• One (1) year experience in DAX & AAS/SSAS in a private, public, government or military environment


• One (1) year experience with Power BI in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• DAX programming language and tabular model creation


• Knowledge of M Query, SQL, python


• Familiarity with relational database technology


• Familiarity with cloud-based solutions & web services

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Location: Maplewood, MN and may consider remote U.S. work location

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
