What you will do

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a position in our internship program, based at JCI Milwaukee, WI. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education. Part of the Buildings Solutions North America Sales Optimization team, this intern performs financial analyses to support and measure business unit results. Works independently and interacts with business group contacts to assist in the planning and analysis of monthly forecasts, financial results and key financial targets. The employee will lead a set of special projects to support the Building Solutions NA sales operations and Above Area teams. This will be a part-time internship during the school year with full-time hours beginning the summer of 2021 and ending in August 2021.

How you will do it


  • Assist in the process to support complete, accurate, and efficient collection of purchasing program contract sales data.

  • Maintain accuracy of monthly management reporting and field financials including report design and distribution.

  • Assist in monthly operating review content for North America HVAC, Fire, and Security businesses.

  • Drive key operational and financial performance metrics and derives insights from data that can be used to advance the organization as a whole.

  • Present findings, results, and analysis of projects and other work to senior leadership.

  • Assist in the monthly cross sell analysis and reporting.

  • Key contact for Above Market sales teams and lends assistance when needed.

  • Lead a set of special projects designed to improve financial reporting and/or improve processes

  • Participate in the Johnson Controls Corporate Summer Internship Program.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year undergraduate bachelors program pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.

  • A highly motivated individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities and able to change directions quickly if needed.

  • An effective communicator to all levels of the organization

  • Able to work independently and lead projects to completion

  • Must have demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to learn data best practices including SQL and Microsoft PowerBI.
