Position Overview
Oldcastle Infrastructure is looking for a customer-focused individual with ERP, CRM, and HR systems knowledge, business acumen and problem-solving skills to join our team as a Manager of Business Systems. The Manager, Business Systems manages a team of business systems analysts, architects, and external consultants to deliver improvements to Oldcastle Infrastructure’s business systems and applications. In addition, the manager provides expertise and guidance around business process alignment and business system functionality and works with other members of the Information Services team to lead projects related to program change, acquisition integration, and enhanced solution delivery for application upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
Leads department in delivering configuration and end-user support for ERP Systems, including Microsoft Dynamics AX, NetSuite & JD Edwards.
Work with business and technology leaders as appropriate to ensure proper alignment of business system solutions with business goals and processes.
Manages systems & software integration projects and business systems software catalog.
Provides project management leadership for acquisition and divestiture activities in the ERP space
Establish standards, methodologies and documentation for business system configuration and application integration. Work with IT Governance to ensure methodologies, operating policies & procedures, technology standards follow architectural guidelines.
Define the appropriate organizational structure to support the business system landscape. Leverage both internal resources and outsourced resources to facilitate delivery.
In coordination with Director, Business Solutions, creation and oversight of budget and financial performance on internal and external resources and contracts. Management of solution vendors as appropriate including contract review, negotiations, operations and quality management.
Gather requirements, provide direction and ensure quality for the application development and enterprise services teams in support of daily business operations and provide technical leadership to I.S. team members working on business system project teams.
Manage planning and implementation of enterprise services design, including configuration, integration and maintenance of ERP systems and other platform solutions.
In coordination with I.S. PMO, manage the portfolio of services and applications along with the projects and teams that support these functions.
Review, approve and support major contract negotiation for software and support services related to business systems and applications.
Ensure projects meet business requirements and value goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Review and analyze existing business applications (application functionality, maintainability and operational effectiveness), and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar technical discipline
10+ years of large enterprise experience deploying and maintaining ERP systems and enterprise applications. Microsoft Dynamics AX, Netsuite, Epicor, JDE or SAP experience preferred.
7+ years of progressive experience managing the implementation, integration and operations of enterprise level applications in a variety of technology footprints.
Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrates strong business process, application configuration, troubleshooting and ERP knowledge.
Ability to identify customer needs, gather relevant information systematically and resolve problems.
Ability to develop effective teams and mentor employees.
Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of a geographically distributed technical staff.
Ability to present ideas in concise, business, technical, and user-friendly language.
