SAVA is currently seeking an experienced professional to join us as a Data Entry Technician, for future opportunities supporting The United States Attorney Office (USAO) in the District of Kansas. The USAO requires support to include clerical and administrative functions, with work expected to begin June 2021.The Data Entry technician will be responsible for directly and independently supporting the administrative division with data entry for a variety of financial, travel, and resource tracking systems. The work requires a generalized knowledge of the data entry for a variety of systems in addition to general clerical and administrative office skills and an ability to apply these skills to manage the assigned workload.

Responsibilities:


  • Enters data into a variety of USAO administrative computers systems (UFMS, E2, UAPM, webTA, etc).

  • Enters data in prescribed format for subsequent processing.

  • Reviews error messages and makes corrective actions during data entry.

  • Enters, monitors, and tracks obligation and expenditures data for office support functions and litigation expenses and ensures expenses are properly entered into financial system.

  • Verifies entries occur on a timely basis in accordance with regulatory controls and within parameters provided.

  • Prepares and processes transactions related to payment, verifying support documentation and ensuring mathematical correctness.

  • Maintains an organized payment file system for obligation and payment documents and researches files when necessary.

  • Monitors payments to prevent duplicate payments.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products and other software including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and WordPerfect Office Suite.

  • Ability to use, understand and maintain directories, personnel lists and other guides and references to provide a variety of information on the office and to refer questions to other offices.

  • Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • 1-2 years of general data entry experience to include experience operating an alphanumeric keyboard. 

  • 1-2 years of experience with accurate data entry into various legal and financial systems with minimal errors.

  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to ask questions when necessary to complete task correctly (e.g. where instructions are not explicit or appear to be contrary to the task objective). Must have typing/keyboarding skills and good communication skills.

  • Must be knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications systems.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Must have ability to work independently and be detail oriented.  


Desired Qualifications:


  • Must be able to obtain Minimum Background Clearance.

  • Ability to type 60 words per minute.
