This unique position combines automation system subject matter expertise with consulting skills. We are looking for candidates with a strong technical background in various SCADA/DCS/PLC/SIS platforms.
The candidate will independently lead multi-discipline technologies on medium-to-large projects for medium to high complexity.  The candidate will be accountable for ensuring the successful delivery of the project and for developing customer relationships. The candidate should be capable of directing the activities of experienced engineers/technologists.

AS A CONSULTANT AUTOMATION, YOU WILL: 

  • Works with Customers to provide technical direction and solutions for customer problems/needs (e.g. leads concept development, Solution development, FEED).
  • Works with Business Development/Sales to develop solutions including architecture development and various aspects of system design.
  • Prepare, lead, participate in various customer technical/commercial meetings.
  • Directs, supervises, guides the activities of multiple technical leads.
  • Actively manage various technical aspects of the project to minimize any delays/risks etc.
  • Routinely manages and executes multiple complex technical activities for a specific project/program or solution.
  • Lead engineering activities on multiple projects / programs.
  • Evaluate customer specification for scope definition and generation of work statements.
  • Develop various design documentation including system architecture, functional design specifications in accordance with project requirements.
  • Set standards for PLC and HMI/SCADA applications on specific projects/programs.
  • Lead customer FAT and SAT to successful completion
  • Plan, lead, test, and commission automation solutions at customer facilities
  • Carry out site visits to review system performance and offer on-site support/guidance including debottlenecking assistance.
  • Mentors technical team members and provides training to engineers/technologists

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • 15+ years’ experience in designing and implementing control system solutions.
  • Experience with On-site implementation, testing, start-up and commissioning.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree from an accredited University or College
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross functionally and across businesses
  • Continuous learner motivated to stay current on competitor solutions, customer needs, new technology approaches as the industry evolves

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Experience with SCADA/PLCs/DCS/SIS
  • Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Basic understanding of Industrial IOT, Industry 4.0 and an interest in manufacturing automation
  • Ability to travel as required and to work with customers and establish appropriate solution and present these solutions to customer leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and across separate businesses.
