An Engineer is a problem solver who analyzes, creates, modifies, and supports a set of complex systems, processes, or operations that enable business capabilities. In this role, you will provide end-user, application and hardware support to our two manufacturing facilities in Kentucky and Indiana.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
· Participates on initiatives, with deliverables and meets quality standards, on time
· Leads cross-functional initiatives, with deliverables and meets quality standards, on time
· Develops reports and systems; Tests applications and systems
· Participate in off hours Deployment, patching and maintenance
· Responsible for updating/patching systems and applications, hardware and software troubleshooting
· Estimates component/application level work efforts
· Work with vendors and contractors on hardware and software development, testing and deployment when applicable
· Responsible for opening, tracking and fulfilling end-user requests through ticketing
· Provides on call support
· Periodically operates under deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads
· Delivers personal tasks on time and leads the delivery of tasks for natural or cross-functional workgroup
· At times provides guidance to and assists in training less experienced individuals
Education & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience / Skills / Abilities
· A minimum of 3 Years with bachelor’s degree or 5+ years’ work experience is preferred but we are open to seeing less if you have the right skillset and drive.
· Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware, Windows Server, Active Directory, application and OS patching, hardware and software break fix, and troubleshooting various internal applications and hardware
· Technically proficient in application/component or system; may act as internal consultant
· Operating systems: Windows and Linux
· Experience with MSSQL Server ODBC configurations
· Experience with Disaster Recovery Methods
· Ability to create and document standards and procedures
· Strong ability to analyze failures and prioritize resolution efforts
· Ability to support users and systems in a fast-paced changing environment
· Maintain a positive attitude in all situations
· Flexibility to meet customer needs or project goals.
Additional Information
· Ability to work 2nd Shift (2pm to 10:30pm) Overtime and on-call responsibilities are required
· Most of your time will be in our Jeffersonville, Indiana manufacturing facility with a minimum of one day per week working out of our Louisville, KY location.
· In order to perform the duties of this job, you will be required to be onsite.
