Job Description:

SUMMARY:

The person in this position audits internal financial controls and procedures to assist management in its assessment of the effectiveness of the company’s internal controls over financial reporting, as mandated by Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Additionally, he or she works on special audits and projects as requested by the Audit Committee and management.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand company policies and procedures; audit for compliance


• Coordinate with regional management to obtain documentation needed to complete audit-test work


• Document audit-test work results accurately and concisely


• Organize and retain adequate documentation to support audit conclusions for review by external auditors


• Determine causes of audit exceptions and work with applicable management to remedy


• Assist with other projects and perform other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Effective oral and written communication skills


• Ability to interact effectively with all levels and continue to maintain a high level of objectivity and independence


• Willingness to travel (up to 25 percent)

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent degree, plus at least two to three years of internal or external audit experience 


• Valid driver’s license
