Job Summary

SCS Engineers is seeking a mid-level engineer, geologist or environmental scientist to support our Environmental Services practice across the Southeast region. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner and self-motivated, is eager to learn, embraces teamwork, and has the desire to grow and develop professionally honing project and client management skills. The ideal candidate has the ability to manage deadlines and client expectations. This position can be based out of any SCS Office in Florida.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • A mixture of office and field work expected, with an emphasis on office work
  • Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Multi-media sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air) and reporting
  • Compliance monitoring, permitting, document preparation, and proposals
  • Project Management of small to mid-scale projects
  • Long field days and work at job sites can be expected with this position

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related major required
  • 4 to 10 years of related environmental experience required
  • Experience in client management, sales, marketing, and proposal development preferred
  • Professional registration preferred (E.I.T.,P.E./P.G., C.I.H., C.S.P.)
  • Experience with underground tanks investigation, remediation, and risk assessment preferred
  • Phase 1 ESA experience or interest in developing due diligence skills preferred
  • Microsoft Office and computer programs (AutoCAD, Surfer, and/or ArcGIS preferred), field equipment experience preferred
  • HAZWOPER training completed and up to date preferred
  • Efficient and highly skilled technical writing and presentation skills needed
  • Valid driver's license with driving record in good standing required
