Job Description:
We Are Hiring: AMITA Health St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee, IL is looking for a compassionate and energetic Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for our Medical Surgical Unit.

PRN, Nights - 6:00pm - 6:30am some weekend shifts and 1 winter and 1 summer holiday

This CNA role is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus, provided you successfully complete all pre-employment requirements subject to the terms and conditions of the offer. Former associates of six months or less are not eligible

What You Will Do: As a Patient Care Technician with AMITA Health, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our patients. You will support the nursing staff in nearly every aspect of patient care and play a significant role in our patient's day to day experience within our Medical Surgical Unit.

  • Aid with movement and placement of patients.
  • Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Document necessary records.
  • Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.
What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Illinois Department of Public Health preferred.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
