We are seeking a LIMS QA Engineer to join our world class R&D Quality Engineering team. This key individual's pharmaceutical expertise and software quality focus will help ensure BIOVIA laboratory software solutions meet the needs of the modern pharma lab. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

What will your role be?

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Lab Operations portfolio by participating in test design, test planning, and test execution of LIMS software delivery, including end-to-end lifecycle testing, working closely with a product team consists of product managers, test engineers, and developers. Our cloud native LIMS solutions allow scientific data to be captured, processed, interpreted, stored and managed, in support of pharmaceutical research, development, and production. Deep scientific software solutions are widely used in laboratories and research facilities globally, and our R&D teams are aggressively extending on-premise solutions to the Cloud, so this is a great opportunity to help transform software delivery and support the laboratory of the future.

Challenges Ahead

- Work with the Lab Operations R&D product team to evaluate complex scientific user requirements, develop, test, and deploy comprehensive LIMS applications.

- Design, develop, execute, and maintain discrete process and end-to-end workflow tests including functional, integration, and regression test suites for LIMS applications based on business requirements.

- Collaborate with Development and QA teams to design and conduct solution level performance tests to ensure system reliability, capacity, and scalability across multiple applications in multiple configurations.

- Support QA convergence activities for GA, Service Pack, and HotFix releases:

- Business use case testing

- Functional testing

- Integration testing

- PCS (performance, capacity, and scalability) testing

- Security and Vulnerability testing

- GxP Compliance Validation user workflow testing

- Track all assigned work and deliverables on a daily basis using Jira, SpiraTeam, and associated tools.

- Ensure requirements traceability, test coverage, and exit criteria are satisfied before closing testing related tasks.

- Participate in Go/No Go decisions; providing information on open test areas, known issues, and release risks.

- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills working with global teams on complex software with varied configurations and integrations.

- Represent a strong vision for quality for the product teams, driving practices that continuously improve product quality and customer value.

Your Key Success Factors?

- Bachelor's (or Master's) Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or related scientific fields is required. Bachelor's or other Computer Science education and experience is a plus.

- Candidates with work experience in the scientific laboratory validation space and in-depth experience with LIMS systems, laboratory equipment, laboratory processes, batch execution, laboratory workflows and best practices are strongly preferred.

- Prior experience with commercial or academic laboratory informatics software including Lab Management, Procedure Execution, Materials Management, and Electronic Lab Notebooks is strongly desired.

- In addition to working knowledge with laboratory testing, familiarity with computer system validation in a FDA regulated industry is preferred.

- Experience with scripting or programming and Windows and LINUX usage and navigation is preferred.

- Familiarity with Relational Database Management System including Oracle and MS SQL is desired.

- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

- Conversant in software development and testing methodologies.

- Practical experience working with software teams delivering cloud solutions using continuous integration, continuous testing, and continuous delivery is desirable.
