The position is in the Gavin Woodruff's Fig Worm Lab. Oversee and complete general lab tasks such as solution and media preparation, lab organization & cleanliness, oversee lab supplies. Manage records & curation of laboratory nematode strain & other lab collections. Generate transgenic nematode lines and conduct developmental genetic experiments in C. elegans and other nematode species.Collaborate with PI and other lab members to contribute to and develop publications.

Required Education: GED/High School Grad or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

• 12-24 months experience in a Laboratory / Science / Research

Skills:

• Experience with molecular biology lab techniques


• Strong organizational and communication skills

Certifications:

• None required

Advertised Physical Requirements:

• Finger and fine motor skills required. Ability to sit at a microscope for extended periods. May be required to carry objects up to 35 lbs. Ability to see and communicate.

Departmental Preferences:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree


• Experience working in a molectular biology research laboratory


• Experience with working with genetic technologies like CRISPR/Cas9, Gibson cloning & recombinant DNA


• Experience with organizing & maintaining lab records


• Experience in lab supply ordering
