The E.W. Scripps news station WPIX, in New York, NY is looking for a photographer. This person will capture and edit visual content for multiple platforms and be responsible for operating various news gathering equipment, including but not limited to microwave live truck, video camera, and video editing equipment. 

The Photographer will be responsible for shooting and editing visual content for multiple platforms.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Capture and edit visual content for multimedia platforms, including internet and digital channels


• Work cooperatively with reporter assigned to a story and newsroom to develop and produce stories


• Operate various news gathering equipment, including but not limited to microwave live truck, video camera, and video editing equipment


• Drive the company vehicle for business purposes


• Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• College degree preferred, but will accept a high school diploma or equivalent experience required.


• 3+ years experience as a photographer 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Must have passion for entertainment, pop-culture and news.


• Advanced training in writing, video editing, video production, graphics, audio production, music editing, sound effects.


• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws


• Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-oriented environment. 


• Proficiency with live microwave truck operation


• Able to lift up to 75 pounds.


• Valid driver's license and good driving record required. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required.
