Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for working across business units, functions, and external partnerships to build consensus and facilitate change.

  • Accountable for managing external data sources, evaluating quality of data, and analyzing data.

  • Accountable for assimilating quantitative and qualitative information and using judgment to synthesize relevant insight on topics such as the evolution of the macro market environment, customer behaviors, commodity price evolution or competitive industry dynamics.

  • Responsible for advancing macro-economic strategies.

  • Responsible for creating and delivering presentations and reports.

  • Accountable for maintaining high standards of written and oral communication.

  • Act as a project manager for key strategic and pilot projects on the front end of business change such lean management projects, business model changes, M&A studies, customer value proposition development, etc.

  • Accountable for performing market studies using creative and tenacious methods to finding information.

  • Responsible for developing and executing action plans.

  • Responsible for supporting the strategic planning process by forecasting marketing and sales trends.

  • Responsible for providing sales support such as pricing and targeting strategy, customer research, demand forecasting, and data analytics support.

  • Responsible for bringing thought leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement to the business and acting as a project manager for key projects, as necessary.

  • Ability to write formal papers and reports for senior leadership.

  • Comfort and capacity to work on detailed analysis as well as big picture trends.

  • Strong analytical skills utilized for manipulating figures and establishing insight.

  • Willingness to utilize Excel and other tools to create models, formulas, graphs, and pivot tables.

  • Problem solving skills as applied to concrete problems as well as political and leadership issues.

  • Ability to apply strategic and financial frameworks to synthesize and assess complexity situations.

  • Creative thinking and the ability to implement innovation tools.

  • Aptitude for developing alternative solutions.

  • Use of reason even when dealing with emotional topics. 

  • Communication of thoughts and reasoning in a technically sound manner that is understandable by multinational personnel in written and verbal forms.

  • Observation of safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.

  • Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and preferred knowledge of digital analysis tools such as Microsoft Power Bi, Smartsheets, and Microsoft Office Suite


  • Advanced degree in technical and/or commercial field required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas market

  • Corporate strategy and/or marketing experience in energy industry preferred

  • Pipe, thread manufacturing, or quality experience is a differential

  • Excellent Microsoft Office application skills (Excel and Power Point)

  • Proficiency in communication and customer relations skills

  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and team work skills
