Wood finishes: For nearly 200 years, the world's leading manufacturers of cabinetry, furniture, flooring and building products (doors and windows) have depended on AkzoNobel industrial wood finishes to beautify and protect their products. We offer a range of products that meet the unique specifications of our customers and meet country and regional regulations. AkzoNobel is our primary brand for OEM manufacturers around the world, In North America, the Chemcraft® distribution brand is well recognized by wood workers in professional shops.
Color styling: Our color experts look to fashion, architecture and design to determine key trends for the upcoming year. The resulting knowledge is shared across our global wood finishes facilities. We use these insights into emerging trends to formulate finishes that allow our customers to deliver products highly desirable to consumers. Our goal is to take our customers' product vision, support it with creative finishes that are efficient, consistent and sustainable.
Adhesives: AkzoNobel provides wood adhesives and board resins to the major wood markets globally.
JOB DESCRIPTION : Guide site management in developing and ensuring the implementation of policies, year plan and practices for the assigned unit, contribute to the development of strategy on a one level higher entity, in line with corporate guidelines, plans and strategy, in order to ensure the realization of strategic objectives of the assigned unit. Act as a change agent for HSE&S culture and continuous improvement, and a role model for ensuring compliance with HSE&S policies and procedures. Provide input for the BU to the definition of corporate policy and ensures BU compliance with corporate policy directives, standards and reporting requirements. Make safety a primary value for the BU by working with and influencing the BU manufacturing directors, site directors and managers, maintains an international peers network and is member of international, public HSE&S organizations. Sign off on internal expertise groups, designs and manage a balanced and coherent health-, safety-, and environment improvement program at BU level and ensures its effective implementation. Develop policies and objectives for the assigned unit and contribute to the development of the strategy on a level higher. Ensure development, manage and ensure realization year plan for the assigned unit, acquire approval, ensure and manage execution and deliver results. Evaluate organizational design, processes and systems and initiate and implement changes and improvements. Keep up with internal and external developments and ensure development, transfer and retention of knowledge and information. Provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and analyses. Build and maintain a network of in- and external stakeholders and represent the organization. Define, plan, manage and co-ordinate assigned projects and ensure execution and delivery.
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience in chemical manufacturing and batch processes in a safety role. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree, plus five (5) years of experience as described. The experience must include: PSM, applicable regulatory knowledge, occupational safety management in a manufacturing environment. Travel required 15%.
