Summary:The Youth Apprentice is actively learning and is engaged in the organization. Success in this role is measured by meeting education requirements, actively engaging in the personal learning plan, and taking every opportunity to learn and observe Youth Apprenticeship Mentors. Key deliverables to ensure success are listed below: 1.\tMaintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.2.\tResponsible to prioritize their schoolwork and demonstrate a commitment to learning by:\t1.\tCompleting of National Institute for Metalworking Skills machining certification from DACC\t\t1.\tAchieving DACC course requirements on time per the instructor's schedule\t\t2.\tEarning 20 college credits\t2.\tSustaining a GPA of 2.55/4.0 or 3.18/5.03.\tActively engages in all work assignments, taking a learning approach to all tasks.\t1.\tDemonstrates a high level of professionalism\t2.\tIs prompt and respectful with Youth Apprenticeship mentors.\t3.\tTakes on each task with an enthusiastic and a curious attitude. Ask questions when unsure, makes suggestions on improvement areas and follows through on assignments.\t4.\tInteracts with all levels of the organization.\t5.\tSolves business problems with guidance from Youth Apprenticeship mentors.4.\tResponsible to track and maintain progress on learning plan.\t1.\tMaintains a logbook of work activities throughout the program.\t2.\tEngages in personal development and actively seeks opportunities to build skills to become a well-rounded Apprentice. Specifically, the Employee Development Team strongly influences the culture of thyssenkrupp Camshafts and committed to the growth and empowerment of its employees. This unique team is responsible for the development and promotion of the technical skill level in the organization. In this role the Youth Apprentice experiences each department in the organization. Youth Apprentices are challenged to grow their technical, business and interpersonal skills while conducting value-add work and contributing to the organization in a positive way.
