Job Description:

The Healthcare QA Culture & Training Specialist supports knowledge and skill development of training programs through the design and application of learning and instructional design methods. He/She assists in the development of effective learning interventions for improving knowledge and reducing skills gaps. This position works closely with subject matter experts (SME), Learning Technologies, QA Culture Training Supervisor, QA Culture & Training Manager, and Quality and Operations staff at the Distribution Centers to understand aspects of policies, procedures, systems, and skills requiring training. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reviews needs and skill gap analyses to determine the process of aligning objectives with identified training and development needs
  • Works with QA Culture & Training Leadership to define reporting requirements for learning management systems such as the LMS and knowledge management system
  • Participates in evaluation plan designs for training and learning interventions
  • Coordinates input of course development team and SMEs to create content and assignments applicable to business unit needs and best practices
  • Participates in instructional course and agenda development process to document and maintain files
  • Produces instructional materials for various instructional delivery methods (e.g., classroom, e-learning and written job aids, etc.) to meet project specifications
  • Creates course content outlines in collaboration with designated SMEs to ensure deliverables meet training and learning strategies
  • Gathers data on training needs and learning interventions to integrate design of training materials and programs
  • Writes course content to reflect and expand scope, sequence, and learning objectives developed through team collaboration
  • Coordinates with QA Culture & Training Leadership throughout course development (i.e., initial planning, content brainstorming sessions, media development, and writing) to meet goals and objectives
  • Collects content for development of training materials (e.g., text, graphics, animations, audio, glossary, test questions, etc.) to ensure alignment with training and learning development strategies
  • Designs standardized reports on learning and training interventions to ensure key performance indicators are measurable
  • Reviews procedures and guidelines for training programs and learning interventions to guarantee instructional materials meet outlined learning and training goals across business units
  • Arranges instructional sequences to create quantitative and qualitative measurement tools and integrates reporting requirements
  • Runs pilot tests to check functionality and ensure full scale utilization
  • Plans and develops course goals and objectives to foster knowledge and skill development of program participants
  • Collaborates with internal clients (e.g., Healthcare Quality, Operations, etc.), SMEs, and project managers to assist with the direction and management of projects
  • Designs platform to develop evaluation tools (e.g., surveys, questionnaires, etc.) necessary for measuring training and learning intervention effectiveness
  • Provides instructional expertise and recommendations to support trainers and Distribution Centers in the implementation of training programs

Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Word (e.g. using templates) experience 
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint experience (e.g. embedding videos, animations and troubleshooting technology issues) 
  • Experience in course design work including web-based/online courses, instructor-led and virtual courses
  • Experience with web based course-building software such as Articulate Storyline, Lectora and/or Smartbuilder  
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Computer Science or Web Design - Preferred
