Job Description:
UIHC- Iowa River Landing (Coralville, Iowa) is seeking a full-time HR Associate. The hours for this position will be 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday.

This position serves as an HR support to the HR Unit Representative, tasked with gathering and tracking data, record keeping, compliance monitoring, transaction processing, and talent acquisition. This role requires discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgement and decision making.

Position Responsibilities:

• Serve as a search administrator for talent acquisition in partnership with hiring managers to ensure a fair and effective hiring process

o Work with HR Generalist to draft job descriptions and position qualifications

o Create recruitment requisitions, job ads, and supporting materials

o Review application materials and complete recruitment documentation including but not limited to quantification of candidate skill sets and hiring justifications

o Conduct interviews and collaborate with hiring managers in the selection process, ensuring compliance with the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity guidelines

o Maintain all recruitment documentation folders in accordance with guidelines

• Complete first day orientation with new hires, processing I-9s, W-4s, etc.

• Gather, compile, and prepare HR data as directed, including but not limited to information supporting recruitment, onboarding, compliances, licensure/certifications, etc.

• Maintain confident personnel and epersonnel records and reports. Audit standard reports to assure completeness and accuracy of information.

o Charged with converting all paper personnel files into epersonnel files in an HRIS system

• Monitor compliances of IRL staff through internal HRIS system (CQ), sending notification reminders and providing extensions when applicable

• Initiate HRIS transactions including, but not limited to: new appointments, terminations, leaves of absence, etc.

• Responds to questions from employee and supervisors that require independent judgement, including by not limited to: employee time records, benefits, and policy interpretation

• Other duties as assigned

Education Required

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements

• 6 months experience with administrative and/or customer service related duties (ie: calendar coordination, document management, independent judgement, transactional duties, etc).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

• Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous experience working in Human Resources

• Previous experience in recruitment

• Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to Human Resources

• Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures

• Previous experience working in a heath care environment

• Previous experience working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
