The Power Plant Maintenance Operator is a skilled position that will work with a high performing team to help carry out plant auxiliary and maintenance tasks. This position will support the long-term quality and production goals of the organization by demonstrating teamwork and initiative and by adhering to all safety standards and codes.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Maintaining and monitoring power plant auxiliary equipment and performing equipment field inspections to ensure it is operating at its best capability
Providing operational support for absences or short-term vacancies of other key positions within your crew
Promoting continual improvement, working to identify opportunities to improve safety and equipment reliability in the power plant
Performing required equipment inspections, lubrications, and daily/weekly clean-up
Providing coverage for water testing, reviewing results, and taking corrective actions
Providing feedback on equipment conditions, potential failure risks, corrections and additions to job plans
What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or GED
Willing and able to work 12 hour rotating shifts that include days, nights, overtime, weekends, on-call, and holidays
At least one of the following
Completion of at least two (2) year technical degree in one of the following fields: Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Maintenance, or Power Plant Technology prior to first day of employment
A minimum of two (2) years of operational or maintenance work experience in a Power Plant environment
Experience communicating with all levels of the organization e.g.: via reports, e-mail, verbally, and/or in small/large group settings, in a team environment
Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
What Will Put You Ahead?
Five (5) or more years of operational or maintenance work experience in a power plant environment
Operational or maintenance experience with steam turbines
Experience utilizing distributed control systems (DCS) or programmable logic controls (PLCs)
