We are currently looking an experienced leader to join our R&D organisation as the Portfolio Management Capability Development & Innovation Head.
The Portfolio Management Capability Development & Innovation Head will focus on enhancing GSK’s Portfolio Management capabilities and proficiencies regarding portfolio optimization, decision science, portfolio performance, and will incubate innovative ways of working across Portfolio Management and the business partners with which we work.
The Portfolio Management Capability Development & Innovation Head will act as change leader and embed improved ways of working across the Portfolio Management team specifically around tools to drive portfolio decision making, reporting and tracking R&D performance and as the Portfolio Lead on Integrated Resource Management (IRM) core team. Working closely with the Portfolio Management Leadership Team, the role is accountable for the development and delivery of change management, performance management processes (e.g., how do we know if we are winning or losing in terms of Portfolio Management delivery) and training to ensure that the core competencies and capabilities within the global Portfolio Management group are significantly increased and become a competitive advantage for GSK.
The primary focus of the role will be on strengthening the portfolio management tools, processes and capabilities, including leveraging advancements in technology around machine learning (ML) and developing a data strategy in partnership with the Head of Advanced Analytics within the Portfolio Analytics team to inform portfolio decision making including the integration of scientific data with standard portfolio management data.
They will also be accountable for the development and delivery of training and capability sing across the Portfolio Management Team in partnership with functional leaders within Portfolio Management.
This will require the individual to be a portfolio management expert who is a change agent and innovative thinker who will monitor the external environment for advances in data and technology that could be applied to portfolio decision making at GSK to create a competitive advantage through improved data driven insights.
He/she will not only support the global practice of Portfolio Management across Pharma R&D but will also work closely with key business partners within the Portfolio Management Leadership Team and with other key business partners across the business (e.g. R&D Finance, R&D Project Management, TAUs, PTS, Data CoE, Stats, etc) to drive consistent, integrated and strategic Portfolio Management across R&D.

• In depth understanding of the drug discovery, development and commercialization processes
• A track record in the development and delivery of portfolio management training and capability development.
• Leadership of complex projects with significant organizational impact and proven track record leading the delivery of multiple projects
