Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for weighing chip trucks in and out , (Gross, Net and Tare Weights), take chip samples from each truck load, assign load number , then classify chip samples, and bake chip samples to determine moisture content's, all while insuring data entry and documentation accuracy. During vessel loading follows all chip quality requirements per customer contract .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Have excellent communication and documentation skills.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Interact on daily basis with supervisors, vendors, drivers, contractors, co-workers, and accounting personnel as needed.
Must become certified Deputy Weigh Master.
Oversee Whole Log Chipping Scales as needed
Must be able to perform, and learn other duties as needed at the direction of the supervisorial staff in order to assure operating efficiency.
Assist maintenance personnel as needed for clean-up/repairs on land, dock and on the water.
During vessel loading, must adhere to our customer preference for sampling, drying, sample retention and chip classifying per the requirements as outlined in customer contract.
Must be able to progressively learn to operate heavy equipment.

Insure accurate data is obtained and entered into the Chip Quality Report and the CT-3 Chip Supplier and Inventory Systems. Collect 1,000 gram samples each, for chip size classification and moisture content testing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Must have a valid Driver's License.
Must pass TSA background check in order to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). This is required in order to load foreign flagged vessels.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be able to take responsibility for the quality of his/hers work products as well as his/ hers own personal safe behaviors.
Must be an active and contributing participant in the safety program.
Must follow all environmental rules and regulations.
Insure all applicable company, local, state and federal government rules and regulations are strictly followed at all times.
Assist management and supervisory staff as needed to achieve goals for safety, quality, production, maintenance issues, equipment repairs, employee training, project planning and environmental compliance.
Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends or holidays and perform other duties as directed to assure the operating efficiency of the facility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is located in Samoa, CA.
Works both inside and outside under varying climatic extremes.
Must have the ability to see distance and detail with accuracy.
Must have ability to work independently and without immediate supervision.
Ability to work around water, attend training and company functions.
Must maintain punctual and regular attendance and present appropriate professional appearance at all times.
Requires the use of standard safety equipment in regulation with GDRCo.
