Why Mayo Clinic

The Precision Neurotherapeutics Innovation Program at the Mayo Clinic is a multidisciplinary research/technology collaboration primarily focused on discovering and creating novel, personalized treatments for various neurological disorders. A major component of our research is the understanding and expansion of medical imaging techniques, including MRI, PET, and CT, particularly as used in neuro-oncology. This position is for a PhD-level expert in imaging physics and simulation. The candidate will be required to integrate imaging physics principles with current mathematical modeling research in the lab. Candidate will be expected to lead grant application writing and recommend funding opportunities to be pursued. Candidate will be required to lead and assist in preparing manuscripts, presenting at conferences, and participating in grant meetings and other workshops.

Position description

A Research Associate at Mayo Clinic is a temporary transitional role with the primary purpose to allow qualified individuals to work within an established investigator's program in preparation for an academic and/or independent research career. The ability to perform specialized or complex functions would typically be demonstrated through review of scientific accomplishments, contributions, and peer-reviewed publications averaging at least one per year post doctoral degree. The Research Associate is expected to provide leadership support and training within an established research program. 800210; J2WRTP

Qualifications

Must have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Requires at least three years of postdoctoral research experience at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere with evidence of publications and other scientific accomplishments.
