Your New Role
As a Construction Estimator, you will be an integral part of the pre-construction team, working closely with project managers and engineers to develop accurate cost estimates for various construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing estimates by calculating the complete scope of work and pricing items accordingly.
Reviewing design options and recommending the best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or material availability.
Reviewing all pricing with the Preconstruction Lead.
Utilizing historical unit price and productivity data.
Reviewing proposal specifications and drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimates.
Determining critical path schedules and sequences of work.
Investigating sites before bids, identifying waste areas, borrow areas, and dump sites.
Willingness to travel.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful as a Construction Estimator with our growing company, you'll need to bring:
A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 6 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in estimating software.
Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
Commitment to maintaining an in-office presence to ensure the integrity and precision of project estimates.
