We are hiring a qualified Anesthesiologist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at Travis AFB, in Fairfield, CA.


  • Status: Independent Contractor - Full Time

  • Rate: Hourly rate of $260.00

  • Schedule: Monday through Sunday. 24/7 coverage, which requires variable shifts. Regular Hours: These shifts vary in length from 8, 10, 12, 16, or 24-hour shifts, Contractors will work up to an average of 45 regular hours per week (averaged over 4 weeks).

  • On-call will be required: Weekday Offsite Call occurs approximately 7 times per month, any day Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. but often starts later when working a 10 or 12- hr Regular Hours shift. There exists the possibility of working a full 24-hour shift if called back. Weekend Offsite Call occurs approximately 3 times per month, Sat 7:00 a.m.-Sun 7:00 a.m. or Sun 7:00 a.m.-Mon 7. a.m. with the possibility of working the full 24-hour shift if called in. Holiday Weekend Call is Fri 7:00 a.m.-Tue 7:00 a.m., 96-hour shifts, approximately 23 times per year with the possibility of working the entire shift if called in.

The Physician - Anesthesiologist must have the following qualifications:


  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.g. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.

  • Certification: Current board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology

  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: ACLS certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association and/or Red Cross-approved training program

  • Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.

  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as required.

Due to contractual obligations with the DoD, HCWs performing under this contract must be a U.S. citizen or as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, either a noncitizen national of the United States, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or alien authorized to work in the United States.
