Senior Applications Analyst, Cardiology at Brigham & Women's Hospital(BWH)

Job Description:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Collaborate with reading physicians, fellows, echo techs and support staff to ensure proper access and functioning of relevant applications, such as Syngo Dynamics, TomTec, EchoPac, Visage, and Team Viewer.

  • Configure or modify off-the-shelf software to the specifications of end users.

  • Work with vendor representatives from GE, Philips, and Siemens, as well as MGB IS to configure new machines and maintain the performance of established equipment, including software updates.

  • Plan and conduct thorough testing of applications and equipment to ensure functionality, performance, and security.

  • Evaluate and recommend new or emerging applications and services as needed.

  • Coordinate service contracts with product vendors, including scheduling routine and ad hoc maintenance appointments and running point on contract renewals, and maintain documentary records.

  • Manage external hard drives and SFAs used for study storage and access.

  • Oversee collections of data used for research and facilitate their de-identification, aggregation, and export.

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunction and applications errors, providing backup support for the Chief and Lead Sonographers as needed.

  • Assist with training and orientation of staff regarding applications and equipment, including (but not limited to) recurring educational presentations during lab meetings.

  • Liaise with MGB IS groups and other procedural services areas to ensure proper alignment with broader company initiatives.

  • Maintain hospital service standards, with particular attention to personal/behavioral habits, staff teamwork, and patient-staff interaction guidelines.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.





  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:




    Level of education required:



    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.


    Work experience required:



    • Minimum three years of experience working with the systems and applications indicated above.


    SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:




    Technical Skills: Proficiency with referenced applications and systems. Broader familiarity with echocardiography, ultrasound, and their implementation within large healthcare systems. Experience with software testing, configuration, and optimization. Knowledge of database design and management systems.



    Organization Skills: Strong organizational, coordination and judgment skills. Ability to prioritize effectively. Ability to do high-level, self-directed work without prompting. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, following established protocols, and work within systems.



    System Skills: Advanced computer skills. Ability to use all applicable applications at highest competency level. Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot. Ability to analyze a situation and determine best course of action within established guidelines. Advanced understanding and use of medical terminology. Knowledgeable and compliant with all hospital, State and Federal requirements (where applicable to job performance), including policy and procedures with The Joint Commission and HIPAA.
