C&W Services has an immediate opening for a Handyperson. The Facilities Handyperson aids the facility management team in supporting the daily operations and ensuring successful service delivery of the client facility needs and directly support the facility management team with on-going facility and team related responsibilities. We're looking for a professional who can take initiative, help anticipate problems before they occur, and work well as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with peers, management, clients, and anyone else encountered on the job. The Handyperson is a position within the line of operations of C&W Services. The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance functions, including, patching and painting walls, replacing ceiling tiles and minor equipment, plumbing, carpentry repairs. Responsibilities/Tasks/Duties
Patch and paint walls
Install and maintain door closers, locksets and passage sets
Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment
Install bulletin boards and writing boards
Replace damaged, stained, or missing ceiling tiles
Replace damaged VCT floor tile
Refasten existing or replace damaged cover base
Analyze/assess problems quickly and accurately
Act independently and with little supervision
Learn new tasks and systems
To use common hand tools
To use power tools
To support company's goals and objectives
Perform other related duties as assigned, assisting other tradesmen and emergency repairs

IMPORTANT EXPERIENCE • 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS • Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license (commercial license may be required) and good driving record with periodic checks • Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or stand-by on-call duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
