Job Description:

Schneider Electric has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Lab Intern in our Cedar Rapids, IA location.

This position is responsible for providing high quality laboratory support for new product development, product evolution, production and maintenance. The employee typically works hand in hand with a mentor Technician and reports into a Lab Manager.

What will you do?


  • Support projects related to electro-mechanical tests on circuit breakers in accordance to various UL and international standards.

  • Gain exposure to a variety of testing instruments and devices such as AC/DC power supplies, dielectric testers, Biddle bridges, Megger testers.

  • Responsible for recording data and observations during tests being performed and preparing an electronic report using MS Word and Excel, etc.


What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant technical discipline, i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology/Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering

  • Basic working knowledge of DC and AC electricity concepts (voltage, current, power, resistance, etc.).

  • Previous operation of basic laboratory appropriate hand and power tools, as well as measurement and test equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.

  • Located in Cedar Rapids, IA
