JOB DESCRIPTION



Position: Product Specialist QA III




Job Location: Farm Credit Bank of Texas, Austin, Texas. Telecommuting (work from home) permitted within metropolitan statistical area.




Job Duties:





  • Participate in and support application product and business process testing of the systems used to support client operations [20% of time dedicated to this job duty].

  • Support the planning, managing, and execution of major and minor releases of application code [5%].

  • Execute software testing tasks requiring analysis, planning, scheduling, working with various technologies, participating in requirements, design reviews, and estimation [15%].

  • Participate in the quality control and review process from the application design and specification stage through final release [5%].

  • Work closely with software development early in the development lifecycle (requirements and design stages) to gather test cases and minimalize back-end critical path [15%].

  • Facilitate overall product testing strategy including product test automation strategy [5%].

  • Participate in cross-training across the company portfolio products and other supported bank products [5%].

  • Collaborate with product owner, project manager, scrum master, technical team, and business team on testing tasks and results [30%].

  • In connection with above duties, utilize experience in software quality assurance or software development in a business software environment; automation testing or developing enterprise-class applications; system testing, integration testing, end to end testing, regression testing, cross-browser testing, and mobile device compatibility testing in a lead role; software development lifecycle, QA practices and methodologies, and prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapting to changes in priority efficiently; analyzing and solving complex problems; following comprehensive written instructions; handling complex issues and problems and referring even more complex issues to a higher-level staff; communicating/coordinating effectively with all levels of management as well as with outside vendors; exercising sound judgment, using discretion, and maintaining confidentiality; Microsoft Office applications; analytical thinking and mathematical skills; working as part of a team; assisting in execution of manual and/or automated tests and document results; automation tools and frameworks; assisting QA Manager or Director in defining, developing, and implementing quality assurance practices and procedures, test plans, and other QA assessments; executing software testing tasks requiring analysis, planning, scheduling, and working with various technologies; participating in requirements, design reviews, and estimation; testing and certifying software changes, enhancements, and new system features; participating in SDLC process as outlined by the SDLC Guide; conducting defect triage meetings and tracking QA/UAT/Production bugs to closure; facilitating overall product testing strategy including product test automation strategy; and communicating with product owner, project manager, scrum master, technical team, and Business Analysts about testing tasks and results.




  • Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field plus 2 years experience in job offered or 2 years experience in related occupation using experience in software quality assurance or software development in a business software environment.

    In lieu of Master's degree, employer will accept Bachelor's degree in above listed fields plus 5 years of progressive work experience in related occupation. Experience may be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
