A Day in The Life

As a Development Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of Electrical, Software, and Mechanical Engineers to create high-quality medical devices and components for surgical devices used in minimally invasive (MIS) and robotic-assisted (RAS) surgery.

• Collaborates with System Engineering on the system architecture, product requirements, user-centered design, and product security.

• Work with Project Management to create a plan to implement that device or component to an agreed-upon project schedule and budget.

• Works with Regulatory team members to ensure conformance to applicable regulations and regulatory strategy.

• Works with Design Quality to lead Design and Software FMEAs and to ensure conformance to design development processes and procedures to ensure product quality, reliability, and safety.

• Lead a cross-functional team in the implementation of that device or component within.

• Adapting project activities in real-time to project challenges and opportunities.

• Guide the project through the initial manufacturing stages to commercial launch.

• Leads project teams, influences stakeholders, and ensures cross-functional participation and feedback.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years of relevant experience. Experience in all phases of developing and launching a medical device

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing designs for complex, multi-team projects
  • Understanding of good manufacturing processes for medical devices
  • Experience with medical risk management
  • Background with focus on Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering
  • Experience with Agile SCRUM development methodology
