Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

The Construction Coordination Liaison will coordinate with construction project representatives while performing

material and administrative documentation oversight including website database management, support, and

construction coordination liaison duties for a large-scale Quality Assurance Program that oversees material

inspection and testing for a local agency road and bridge construction program.

The candidate should be highly motivated and is expected to have excellent communication skills, both written and

verbal, as well as good organizational skills and a willingness to take on new challenges. The candidate should have

the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.

The candidate shall have the necessary construction administration experience needed to understand the process

and lifecycle of various infrastructure projects.

General Responsibilities:


  • Manage material documentation website and procedures for a large-scale QA Program.

  • Develop and maintain training documents and tutorials for the above-referenced material documentation website.

  • Coordinate with project representatives to provide materials-related reference documents to administer the agency’s projects.

  • Coordinate and attend meetings to present materials-related information for project coordination efforts.

  • Develop and maintain materials reference documents.

  • Provide basic technical support and assistance to users of a web-based construction and materials management system including but not limited to new user accounts, access issues, password recovery, and general database inquiries.

  • Perform audits of project documentation and information on the website/database system to identify deficiencies and verify corrective actions are completed. Prepare reports as needed.

  • Attend QA program-related meetings including assisting with agenda preparation and meeting minutes.

  • Assist with and participate in in-person and virtual training sessions.

  • The position requires effective and efficient coordination abilities.

  • Periodic visits to project sites to inspect and document fieldwork may be required.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related discipline or demonstrated equivalency of

    experience.

  • Minimum 8 years of construction/materials experience


  • Familiar with IDOT’s Manual of Test Procedures for Materials and the Standard Specifications for Road and

    Bridge Construction

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based software

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:


  • 10+ years of experience in construction including 3+ years of experience as an office/documentation

    engineer or as a Resident Engineer on construction projects.

  • Experience working within a technical office or construction environment preferably in HMA, PCC, and

    aggregate material testing and inspection categories as related to roadway construction.

  • Certification in IDOT Documentation

  • Experience includes work on projects for IDOT, CDOT, ISTHA, and/or federally funded projects for

    municipalities or other local agencies

  • Local candidates

  • Strong Word, Excel, and Database skills
