Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

Whitney, Bailey, Cox & Magnani, LLC, now a division of TranSystems, is excited to announce we are actively searching for an experienced Design Engineer to join our award-winning team. 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Planning, analysis and design of drainage ditches/storm drain systems, stormwater management, stream restoration, and erosion & sediment control for transportation and environmental mitigation/remediation projects.

  • Contract documents package preparation including plans, cost estimates, and specifications/special provisions.

  • Permitting package preparation including form completion, mapping, computations, plans, and reports.

  • Design drafting using AutoCAD and Microstation.

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, including TR-55, TR-20 and HEC-RAS modeling.

  • Field work which may include utilizing field data collection applications, walking through heavily vegetated areas, alongside roadways, and carrying field equipment.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • B.S. in Civil, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited school.

  • 1-5 years of experience as a Design Engineer. 

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work through assigned tasks independently and timely.

  • Willingness to work with and learn through training from EWR teammates of all levels.

  • Team oriented and self-motivated.

  • Basic knowledge of and practical experience with TR-55 and TR-20.

  • Basic knowledge of and practical experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Microstation.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of and practical experience with stormwater management & drainage design.

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:


  • EIT is preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of and practical experience with ArcGIS is preferred.
