Required License/Registration/Certification Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).
Shift Monday through Friday; day shift during clinic hours.
Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for direct patient care and provides clinical support to providers. Duties include but not limited to the following: obtain patient medical history information, expedite patient flow, room patients, stock clinic with supplies, navigate electronic health record system, schedule and follow-up with appointments and assist with medication fill requests, prior authorizations and schedule tests, procedures and consults. Other duties may include answering phone calls, following up on missed appointments, obtaining records from outside hospitals and labs, assisting with prescriptions for home monitors, collecting medication histories, assisting with prescription refills and PT/INR orders, point-of-care testing for labs and other miscellaneous tasks. The technician will communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians in a respectful manner and follow UK Healthcare values for service excellence.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Education/Experience Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
