The Role



HII, a global, all-domain defense provider, has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Security 2 in our Arlington, Virginia office. The successful candidate will serve as the Senior Security Management official for HII, and will be responsible for managing all security matters for the Corporation. These responsibilities include leading security professionals and directly interfacing with all HII Divisions across the enterprise, as well as having oversight of the HII Corporate Security Council and establish goals and objectives for the corporation.


The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of and significant experience with security practices and regulations in physical and logical security, Insider Threat, crisis management, business resumption, and industrial security management principles. The position manages the integration of all security initiatives, budgets and programs in support of government requirements across the enterprise. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of industrial security operations, systems, and extensive knowledge of government agencies, as well as considerable managerial ability to ensure timely performance of critical tasks. The Director of Security must also be capable of dealing with persons at all levels within and outside the Company.


The HII Director of Security is responsible for maintaining ongoing policy and management liaison duties with officials in the federal, state, local public safety and emergency services agencies. In addition, the position should require a key leadership role in responsiveness to any emergency situation, which includes coordination, communication, and collaboration with executive leadership team, division security directors and public safety partners. Additionally, this position oversees HII's executive protection program.

The successful candidate should have exceptional team-building skills, collaborative and process management skills, executive level verbal and written communication skills, effective critical thinking skills, and excellent independent judgment/decision making skills.




Must Have



Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent in education, training and experience) plus 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience

Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience.


Must have Top Secret DOD Clearance or be able to obtain TS clearance.
