ECM has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Consultant - Change Management position. We are seeking a seasoned expert with extensive change management expertise.

The Senior Consultant will lead large scale change initiatives to drive strategic objectives. The primary focus will be an integrated approach to the people side of change, including plans to drive faster adoption of new processes, systems, organizational structures, and to reinforce Northern Trust's desired organizational behaviors.

Major Duties:

Demonstrate expertise in disciplines of change management methodology including stakeholder analysis, impact assessment, sponsorship / leadership alignment, communication planning, development and delivery, training and performance support, stakeholder engagement, readiness, and adoption.


  • Apply a structured change management approach and methodology for the people side change across multiple change projects.

  • Assess change projects by identifying and analyzing key stakeholders, conduct change impact analyses to determine the scale, scope, and risk of the change and the degree of readiness of key stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage change management plans that apply best practices and are delivered in collaboration with others.

  • Lead communication efforts including the design, development, delivery, and management of communications.

  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress to track adoption, utilization and proficiency related to changes.

  • Lead Center of Excellence activities to build the organizational change muscle through partner and manager change training; knowledge transfer activities and advising on tools, resources, and best practices and continuous improvement via lessons learned.

  • Demonstrate a strong change discipline to other members of the team through role modeling, mentoring and knowledge transfer.

  • Support integration and connection of related change efforts across transformation programs.

Knowledge & Skills:


  • Knowledge and application of Change Management methodology and tools

  • Hands-on project management experience in planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and active listening skills

  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to, influence and build support at all levels in the organization

  • Creative problem solving and root cause identification skills

  • Ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

8-10 years of experience in Change Management, Organizational Development / Effectiveness, or related field Experience leading the change management workstream for complex programs.

Understanding of program / project lifecycle and experience with project management processes and tools Prosci Change Management and/or Prosci Train-the-Trainer Certification, a plus Financial Services industry experience, a plus.
