The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As the Director of Procurement Excellence, in Solventum, you will be responsible for ensuring that the procurement practices are aligned with the business goals, industry standards, and best practices. In this role you will partner with the procurement teams across all areas of procurement to define and execute strategies on Responsible Procurement, Procurement Technology solution and roadmap, Source-to-Pay process and Reporting and Analytics. Accountable for meeting financial requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley controls, internal business controls, and working capital expectations related to accounts payable or purchase order transaction management. You will implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives across Solventum and the procurement function. This role will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Consults with leadership team to set strategic direction and operating plans for Responsible Procurement, including ensuring Solventum's third party vendor base is fulfilling all requirements around laws and regulations, country specific guidelines and our own guidelines. Manages all our supplier related ESG initiatives, in collaboration and alignment with our Sustainability Leader.

2. Manages all Global Procurement policies and ensures creation and updating, distribution and adherence of / to them. Manages the safe digital storage and companywide enablement of said policies.

3. Manages and ensures compliance to supplier requirements with regards to Government Contracting.

4. Manages and ensures compliance to SOX controls for the Procurement area, including performing and documenting monthly controls.

5. Manages and ensures compliance to Supplier Diversity goals and requirements.

6. Consults with leadership team to set strategic direction and operating plans for Global Procurement Technology Stack, including but not limited to contract lifecycle management (CLM), spend cube, savings tracking tool, eCommerce platforms, R2P tools, risk management tools (incl. vendor site mapping), tail spend management, e-Sourcing (RFx, e-auction) tools, vendor enablement and communication.

7. Manages the critical Buy-To-Pay Process for Direct and Indirect, including a changing landscape and diverse set of ERPs, R2P tools and e-Commerce platforms. Drives Buy-To-Pay performance improvements through our Global Service Center and outsourced solutions, including delivery of working capital goals related to accounts payable ledger or purchase order transaction management.

8. Manages the Reporting & Analytics functions within Global Procurement.

9. Has direct responsibility for functional strategic planning, including establishing and managing budgets for one or more departments in the immediate organization or the next higher organizational tier.

10. Management responsibility usually encompasses several work groups/departments within one or more procurement areas. Determines priorities, timetables and assigns resources/tasks. Accountable for the activities and results of their functional area.

11. Creates solutions for complex and multi-faceted problems, which requires ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and strong analytical skills.

12. Resolves issues and conflicts related to direct reports.

13. Has a significant business impact on the organization due to scope of responsibility and complexity of duties.

14. Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with Solventum's values and ethical standards. Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain or business related field

  • 15+ Years of Managerial Experience

  • 10+ Years of Procurement Leadership Experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Masters degree Supply chain or business related field from an accredited institution

  • CPM and/or APICS certification

  • Experience implementing significant improvements or establishing procurement industry best practices across functional areas.

  • Experience from Buy-To-Pay and Accounts Payable processes are key

  • Strong background in procurement technologies, including Source to Pay and third-party performance and risk management

  • Leadership and governance of procurement processes and project teams

  • Proven successful track record in leadership roles

  • Strong communication and leadership skills dealing with a global cross-functional team

  • People management & development

  • Strong Change Management Skills

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $222,044 - $271,387, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
