About the Opportunity

The Enterprise Service Management function works to improve how National IT performs at all levels of the organization from strategy definition to service delivery, from operational effectiveness to process efficiency, from demonstration of budgetary performance and value generation to client satisfaction.

As a ServiceNow Application Developer (Experienced), you will work with Product Owners to understand requirements, build high-quality scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture, and help improve application development, deployment, and customization.

What You Will Do:


  • Develop conceptual, logical and physical IT engineering designs, that support the requirements of varying levels of technical and business application projects to be implemented in the ServiceNow Platform.

  • Complete analysis of business requirements, as it relates to technical design, and ensure traceability of the design to the business requirements.

  • Assess testing requirements and prepares testing strategies leveraging ServiceNow’s Automated Test Framework, as well as preparing implementation and operational support plans.

  • Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code in ServiceNow by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)

  • Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users.

  • Work with a strong set of teams to improve developing and deploying applications and customizations

  • Design software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite

  • Collaborate day-to-day with an energetic team of like-minded developers, product managers and quality engineers using agile software development methodology.

  • Sustain and improve the process of knowledge sharing throughout the team.

  • Perform change management using ServiceNow platform following FRIT change management policies and procedures for software propagation to other environments.

  • May indirectly lead moderately complex projects, and participate on technical/complex projects.

  • Provide project updates during Daily Standups as required.

  • Assist with monitoring compliance with internal audit requirements and Information Security Manual guidelines

Qualifications:


  • 3 to 5+ years of software development experience with JavaScript as well as experience working with libraries such as AngularJS, Bootstrap, React and Node.js

  • 3+ years of experience working within the ServiceNow Platform.

  • Experienced Full Stack developer with a firm understanding of:

  • Data structures

  • Algorithms

  • Object-oriented design

  • Design patterns

  • Deep understanding and experience with Agile software development lifecycle.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline

Additional Preferred Skills and/or Experience desired:


  • ITIL experience or certification.

  • ServiceNow System Admin certification, ServiceNow Application Developer and/or Product line certifications a plus.

  • The hiring range for the Engineer – Experienced is $90,200– $112,700 annually.

  • For candidates outside Richmond, VA, listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.

  • Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.

  • The individual selected for this role is expected to work a hybrid schedule and will be required to be onsite regularly in their FRB District location
