Job Description

The Recovery Collections Supervisor's primary function is to handle the day-to-day operations of the Charge-off collectors including, staffing, training, job performance, team building, monthly/quarterly evaluations, and annual performance reviews. Provide counseling and training where necessary to improve performance. Give feedback and suggestions to management for better practices and/or disciplinary action(s). Continue to maintain charge-off queue(s) to maximize revenue. The Recovery Collection Supervisor is responsible for the collection agency oversight including assigning accounts, collecting recoveries, and reporting month-end numbers to management. Work with members and other internal departments (Fraud, Lending, etc.) to help with their financial difficulties, analyze different collection scenarios to create additional revenue by establishing post-charge-off repayment plans, identify assets (employment and property ownership), and recommending litigation on members unwilling to establish voluntary repayment.

Essential Functions


  • Staff Development/Daily Oversight: Provides leadership to Recovery Collections staff and is responsible for training, mentoring, coaching, conducting job evaluations, procedure development and recommending advancement. Perform duties of a subject matter expert related to Charged-off accounts. Supervise daily operations, including Akcelerant collector productivity, such as quantity and quality of accounts worked. Monitor and Recovery queues. Resolve member complaints and disputes.

  • Collection Agency Oversight: report monthly charge off numbers to upper management QC agency payment postings to ensure proper accounting perform quarterly check ins with each agency Assign accounts to the appropriate agency Review litigation requests with the Real Estate Loss Mitigation Manager for approval/denial from the Agencies

  • Legal Review Review litigation requests with the Real Estate Loss Mitigation Manager for Approval/denial on in house accounts. work with legal counsel and Real Estate Loss Mitigation Manager for court appearances

  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position:


  • Associate's Degree in Business or a related field.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field. preferred

  • 5+ years' combined financial services experience with a focus on Collections, Mortgage Collections, Charge off Collections, Bankruptcy, and Repossession.

  • 1+ years' supervisory or team lead experience.

Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:


  • Knowledge of collection practices (FDCPA, CFPB & UDAAP) and laws; including bankruptcy, foreclosure, and repossession.

  • Banking / Credit Union lending knowledge.

  • Basic knowledge of Fannie Mae servicing and collection standards.

  • Basic understanding of Loss Mitigation practices.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to train, coach, motivate, and direct others.

  • Excellent problem solver.

  • Consumer legal/litigation knowledge (preferred).

Additional Information

The pay range for this position is: $62,940.80 to $82,617.60 per Year (S15)

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, and internal pay equity.

This position is eligible for an incentive plan.
