Ability Building Community (ABC) is looking for an Accounting Technician to join our team!

Mission Statement:
The mission of Ability Building Community (ABC) is to provide services for individuals with disabilities through community inclusion.

ABC has provided vocational support, recreation/leisure activities, and independent living services to people with disabilities in the Rochester, Caledonia, and La Crescent, MN, areas since 1956.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities for the full-time Accounting Technician position at ABC include working with accounting data from various sources, serving as a backup for general accounting office tasks and requests, and assisting with other accounting tasks, as needed.

Tasks specific to this position include: Ensuring accurate coding and processing for all payables, processing payments to vendors, processing incoming payments and creating deposits, providing assistance with customer collections, maintaining the balance sheet accounts, fixed asset records, and vendor files, overseeing credit card processing, and creating and processing fees for service billing to DEED. Cross training on all DHS fee and service billing will occur within the first 6 months of employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of personnel policies is key as the department is commonly asked to carry out or account for the monetary aspect of the various policies.
Able to keep confidential information confidential.
Able to execute basic functionality of Excel as well as import, pivot and validate data, combine data from multiple sources, and work with data on multiple tabs and in multiple workbooks.
Able to work as a team member as well as independently.
Able to communicate both orally and in writing.
Must have good 10-key and keyboarding skills.


Schedule & Compensation:
This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position with primarily regular daytime hours Monday through Friday.

Starting at $19.50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
