Basic Job Functions:




The HR Generalist is responsible for developing and implementing best practices and establishing plans for continuous improvement within the division. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and a wide range of payroll support to our teammates, while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of the payroll data. The role of the HR Generalist includes but is not limited to weekly processing of all payroll activities and the preparation of filing state tax returns. This includes monthly reports to our accounting team. Other responsibilities include assisting in the administration of various company sponsored programs/projects such as service awards, scholarships, educational reimbursement, and other projects as they arise. This role will also be assisting with managing several aspects of the HR function including but not limited to; recruitment, selection and onboarding, legal/compliance, policy administration, benefits administration, corporate and government reporting, training administration, and other tasks assigned. This position may need to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:






  • Associate's degree or 1 or more years of prior HR related experience/training

  • 1+ year of experience processing payroll

  • Per Personnel Policy #21, must not be related to any employee of Vulcraft of Indiana.

  • Prior experience in all Microsoft Office applications





Preferred Qualifications:






  • Experience with SAP - Successfactors Software

  • HR or Payroll Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of payroll tax and financial reporting

  • Prior experience preparing, filing, and reconciling Federal and State Payroll Tax Returns
